What is Mindfulness?

Practicing mindfulness means we are living in the moment and paying attention, on purpose, to each action we are doing when we are doing them. At that very moment, we are not thinking about the past or the future. We become aware of what we are doing, what we are thinking (pleasant or unpleasant thoughts), how we are feeling (pleasant or unpleasant emotions), without judging ourselves. Living mindfully helps us learn that everything changes and that thoughts and feelings never remain the same; they come and they go. Over time, we develop more self-acceptance and self-compassion and become calmer and more peaceful. We also become more aware of whom we are as people.

At Mindful and Fit, we promote Mindful Exercise. Here are some questions to ask yourself in order to know if you are exercising mindfully.

When you exercise:
- Are you focusing your attention on your body, your thoughts and your emotions?
- Are you focused on your breathing?
- Do you put aside your regrets and your worries in order to focus on the here and now?
- Do you respect others around you?

If you answered « NO » to one or more of these questions, you are missing out on the benefits of training mindfully! Please contact our trainers so that they can create a stimulating program that will also allow you to focus on the present moment.
